Introducing “Pay What You Can”
At The Workshop King’s Lynn, we believe creativity should never be out of reach. As a charity dedicated to transforming lives through the arts, we’re thrilled to launch a new payment model designed to meet the needs of our community: Pay What You Can. The initiative allows families to choose how much they contribute to our clubs: £5, £7 or £10 per week.
No judgement. No barriers. Just open doors to creative opportunity.
Why Access Matters
We know that financial circumstances vary and we’ve listened closely to King’s Lynn. For some, the cost of creative arts programmes can be a hurdle. For others, it’s simply not feasible. That’s why we are shifting the focus for the majority of our provisions to flexibility and trust.
Our mission has always been to make the arts accessible, affordable and inclusive. This new model is a bold step forward in breaking down barriers and ensuring that every child, teen or adult has the chance to explore their creativity – regardless of income.

Further Opportunities
While our “Pay What You Can” model opens access to most of our classes, we are also offering specialised performance opportunities for those seeking a deeper commitment to theatre-making.
Theatre Company will be a dedicated ensemble that will rehearse and perform a commission play “Cloud Busting” as part of the UK’s biggest youth theatre festival – National Theatre Connections. This group will have two performance opportunities in April 2026 at The Workshop King’s Lynn and our sister site The Garage Norwich.
Due to the nature of this project, this group operates of membership fees which reflect the process and nationally recognised programme.
We’re proud to offer a range of pathways – from flexible, community-based clubs to high-level performance experiences – so that every young person can find their place in the arts.
